Ya podemos disfrutar con las imágenes del nuevo video musical de Dream Theater ‘The looking glass’, compartido hace unas horas en la red. Se trata de una de las canciones incluidas en el último álbum de estudio de la banda, el homónimo ‘Dream Theater‘ publicado durante el mes de septiembre de 2013 y que ya te hemos presentado aquí en Música Nueva.

El guitarrista John Petrucci, en una recién entrevista con los redactores de Music Radar, ha presentado el single del videoclip con estas palabras: “Sin dudas es un homenaje a Rush, grupo de que somos, desde siempre, grandes fans… Con su música nos han influenciado muchísimo y seguimos admirándolos e intentando imitarlos. Una de su mayores cualidades es conseguir escribir canciones muy alegras, con mensajes positivo pero que al mismo tiempo mantiene un sonido muy poderoso y cool“.
Petrucci ha explicado que: “The looking glass presenta muchos cambios de estilo: el riff principal es arena rock (como lo de Rush) per las estrofas han un tiempo distinto y particular, con un feeling más oscuro. Las aberturas que nos acompañan hasta el estribillo son bonitas y fluidas, con un tiempo reducido de la mitad: algo que hemos hecho para mantener la idea general siempre original e interesante“.
En los últimos Grammy Awards, Dream Theater recibieron una nominación en la categoría Best Metal Performance para el single ‘The enemy inside’, premio que al final ha sido otorgado a Black Sabbath.
